Our History: 150 Years of Community
Stewart-Taylor Company was founded in 1870. Through family partnerships and community focus, a strong company was built. Stewart-Taylor grew alongside Duluth and the Northland.
In 1994, the company moved from its home of 68 years in a Michigan Street warehouse to a renovated storefront at 114 West Superior Street.
In 1996, the company took delivery of a computerized four-color press that enables Stewart-Taylor to run high quality jobs on the newest printing technology available today. The company is operating at a new level of efficiency with all these changes. The advanced technology allows us to produce a high-quality product at a more competitive rate.
In 2011, Stewart-Taylor opened Duluth Sign, a large format vinyl printing sector of the business which has expanded to large commercial sign project management. From personal vinyl to company branding and logo development to large electrical and monument signs, Duluth Sign expands Stewart-Taylor’s vision to bring quality visual communication to customers of all sizes.
In 2020, the company celebrates its 150th year with remodeling, revamping structure and processes, and continuing to grow the company vision to meet customer and community needs.
